Virtua Night!
| July 22 | Posted by unerd (PS3 blog) |
I'll post an entire shedcade entry soon, but for now here's the premise...
- One shed
- One projector screen
- One beer fridge
- Two boy racer racing seats
- multiple bar stools
This sounds pretty simple, and in essence it is, the difficult part begins now! This shed has to be one Funky shed, and although I am happy with it now, it will become far more awesome, a slick gadget haven (in my dreams!).
Tonight will see a 8 way Pro Evo tournament and a battle on the Olympics, with plenty of beers being consumed and some severely dodgy BBQ-ingVirtua Nights have been running since 2000, and I can now confirm that my gaming philosophy has spread to France! Berrets off to you mon freres!

Hori up!

It's another one of those purchases that leaves me baffled, why buy a stick I don't appear to have any use for?
Ok, so I dont have the traditional stick games, but surely this piece of kit will work with a whole host of other games.
You'd think it would suit alot of games, but Virtua Tennis 3 is the only thing that jumps to mind. Hell, it might stop Lair being such an arsebag but as for anything else, I'm stumped!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not slating the stick, I'm taking it away from it's main use, and I know I'll be it's best friend when Streetfighter IV hits, but for now, unless i get a game suggestion or two, it might be a dust collector.

Sixaxis controller range
| July 17 | Posted by unerd (PS3 blog) |
I do have a good reason for this... down at the bottom of my garden, inconspicuously hidden in a shed, is the devlopment dreams are made of - my shed arcade... or as it is known the 'shedcade' (I will post a seperate entry on this soon!!).
Now, obviously I want to be able to play the beast that is my PS3 down there, but I'd rather do it without actually trying to move the big dude itself. So, I have an AV signal sender, I'll 'transmit' in low-D and get the picture that way - Shibby. But Ah, how will I control it... well the PS3 controllers are wireless, maybe the signall will stretch?!
So as you do, I scoured youtube for the answer, and from a little hole in Spain I found this...
Well it turns out these Spanish are pulling the wool over our eyes! I can confirm that my Sixaxis PS3 controller has a bluetooth range (on flat terrain) of approximately 11 meteres, leaving me 4 'king meters short! Humph!
This would appear to be a kick in the teeth for the shedcade, but fear not, it will be overcome and shedcade will have PS3!
