1080p VS Regular AV
| Oct 21 | Posted by unerd (PS3 blog) |
Combining the AV picture with a few online games and it causes a stress fueled ride to SEVERAL SEVERAL losses. It's weird, i'm still playing on a 32" HD ready tv but the game feels enclosed, with the players quicker, combine this with some chump playing as brazil with a poor internet connection and you're on the right road to a heart attack!
With GTA IV i've had to learn two sets of skills, one set the debonair (that could be a completely wrong spelling!) artistic, confident and refined skills of gaming in 1080p, the next a streetfighting hustler bustling to get from level to level, game to game just to get that PS3 hit.
Try it for yourself, but be warned, 1080p is the future and returning to component input may causes heartache and sadness.

Will I survive for the horror?
| Oct 11 | Posted by unerd (PS3 blog) |
I've ploughed through Silent Hill Origins on the PSP an re-played Resident Evil 3 on via remote play, but I need something new! I've pre-ordered Silent Hill 5, but with this a month away and with luke warm reactions following it I'm starting to wonder if another plough through the streets of Silent Hill are what I'm after?
Don't get me wrong, I've always been a huge fan of the series, yet i've passed on 3 and 4 in the series as I just didnt have that 'feel' for them, and I think that feeling might be present for 5. BUT with Resi (I hate that term) along way of what else can I play to help me 'survive'?
As I write i'm actually watching the 'Alone in the Dark' movie 'on't tele', it's about twenty minutes in and wreaks of rubbishness but I am still watching! Sadly it's giving me no desire to purchase the heavily delayed PS3 game.
So, unless anyone has any better ideasi'll be surviving horrorless untill i either accept my Silent Hill preorder or until Resi (REALLY hate that term) appearsBoo hoo. unerd. out.

Elefunk
| Oct 6 | Posted by Woodentop (PS3 Blog) |
What the funk is elefunk? I hear you shouting. Well it is a little gem of a puzzle game that is currently on the PSN network for download. There is a demo that is well worth getting. The demo requires you to build a bridge across a canyon to allow two elephants to walk across to meet eachother, sounds easy but it does get you thinking.
The story of the game is very weak and i ended up skipping as many of the cut scenes as i could, but where the game comes into its own is the clever puzzles and nice graphics to allow you to create custom structures.
Below is the PSN trailer for the game. It is £4.99 and it has given me a few hours of head scratching and i no doubt there will be many more to come.
